Privacy Policy

Bizopo is a local business directory for the Isle of Sheppey and the surrounding Swale area. Bizopo is a trading name of Jett-Tech Solutions Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 16048581, with its registered office at 38 Unity Street, Sheerness, Kent, ME12 2PS.

Jett-Tech Solutions Ltd is the data controller for personal information handled through Bizopo. You can contact us about anything in this policy at admin@bizopo.app.

We only collect information you give us, or that the service needs in order to work.

• Account information. Your email address and password (held by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form), and an optional display name and contact preferences on your profile.
• Business listing information. If you list a business: its name, description, categories, services and prices, photos, opening hours, service area and public contact details. We also hold private operational details, such as the address you work from and the email address enquiries are delivered to, which are not shown on your public profile.
• Enquiries. Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, postcode and the message you send to a business.
• Reviews and replies. Your rating, review text, the name shown against it and any reply the business posts.
• Reports. What you reported, why, and your account if you were signed in.
• Event submissions. Event details and the contact information supplied with the submission.
• Contact messages. Your name, email address, subject and message when you use our contact form.
• Subscription and payment information. If a business subscribes to a paid plan, we hold the plan, subscription status, renewal date and the customer reference issued by our payment provider. Card details are entered directly with the payment provider and are never sent to or stored by Bizopo.
• Technical information. Session data needed to keep you signed in, and limited request information used to apply rate limits and prevent abuse.

• To show business listings, categories, reviews and events on the site.
• To pass enquiries to the business you chose and confirm them back to you.
• To create and manage accounts and business listings.
• To moderate listings, reviews, reports and events, and to keep the site safe.
• To take subscription payments and apply the correct plan features.
• To respond to messages you send us.
• To prevent spam, abuse and fraudulent use of the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you have specifically asked us to.

Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on: contract, where processing is needed to provide the service you asked for, such as delivering an enquiry or running a subscription; legitimate interests, for operating, moderating and securing a directory in a way you would reasonably expect; consent, where you have specifically opted in, which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation, where we must keep records, for example for accounting purposes.

We share information only with the service providers we need in order to run Bizopo, and only as far as necessary:

• Our hosting, database and authentication platform, which stores the site's data.
• Our email delivery provider, which sends enquiry confirmations, account emails, listing moderation notices and replies to your messages.
• Our payment provider, which processes subscription payments and holds the card details you enter.
• The business you contact. When you send an enquiry, that business receives the details you provided so it can reply to you.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of users of the service.

Some of the providers above operate infrastructure or support functions outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is processed outside the UK, we rely on the transfer safeguards those providers put in place, such as approved standard contractual clauses. Bizopo does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking. We use only what the site needs to function: a session cookie or browser storage entry that keeps you signed in, and small browser storage entries that remember things like your saved businesses. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and clear those preferences.

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. Listings and reviews stay published while the listing is live. Enquiries are kept so both sides have a record of what was sent. Subscription and payment records are kept for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. We have not set a single fixed retention period for every category of data; where information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

You can delete your account from your account page. Deleting your account removes your profile and signs you out permanently. Some records connected to other people are not simply deleted: enquiries you sent and reviews you left are anonymised so the business's own records and public review history remain intact without identifying you. Where we are required to retain records, for example billing records, those are kept for the required period.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we relied on it. To exercise any of these, email admin@bizopo.app. We will respond within the time limits set by UK data protection law.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Access to personal information is restricted to what each part of the service needs, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
